Harvest at Mayfield!

Wednesday saw the whole school come together for our Harvest Assembly.

Classes helped decorate the hall with Autumn leaves, poems and drawings to help us celebrate Harvest.  Many donations of food were brought to the table.

We would like to thank everyone for there kind donations. This year we gave our collection of food to the Midlothian Foodbank based in Gorebridge. After the holiday a group of children will have the chance to visit the foodbank to see and hear how it supports our local communities.

We watched some Autumn poem films made by the P6 children with their new Padcaster. They shared how to use green screen with learners around school. The short films show us using signalong to share our poems with our whole school community.

Ms Richardson told us the story ‘The Enormous Turnip’ with the help of the Primary 7 children. Everyone LOVED the story and the acting skills shown by the Primary 7’s!

Thank you to everyone who helped make our films and our assembly a great success.

We hope you all have a fantastic October break and we will see you all on Monday 24th October.
